FHE lesson exchange, author unknown
Preparation:
1. Copy and print out clip art.
2. Cut out Mountain and tape together. Cut along dotted lines and tape on a wall.
3. Cut out boy and all other clip art.
Lesson:
Read 2 Nephi 31:20. Talk about what it means.
Tell this story about a boy that always wanted to climb a mountain. Everyone told him he couldn't do it but he knew he could. So he got some things together and set out to climb the mountain. (Put the boy in the lowest slot.) The boy climbed and climbed and came to a snake (tape the snake next to the boy at the second slot). He was afraid of snakes. He though maybe he should go back home, maybe he couldn't climb the mountain.Do you think he should keep going?
He decided to keep going. He wanted to endure to the end
Continue the story, placing the boy closer to the top at each stop. Use the pictures to tell of the different struggles he has
Band-aid - He fell and skinned his knee
Drink - He got thirsty
Snow - He started getting cold
Finally, the boy made it to the top. He reached his goal even though he had problems. He endured to the end
We can have different struggles in life. What are some things that make it hard for us to do good.
If we try our best, all we can do, then we can return to live with our Heavenly Father.
Reread 2 Nephi 31:20
Bare testimony that when we endure to the end, we will be blessed.
