Heavenly Father Has Given Us A Plan

Preparation:
1. Gather scriptures, crayons and paper.
2. Copy/cut clip art.

Scripture:
Alma 32:30 "For behold it swelleth and sprouteth, and beginneth to grow. And now, behold, will not this strengthen your faith?...For ye will say I know that this is a good seed."

Opening Song:
Families are Forever

Lesson:
This is a picture of the Brown family. Recently the Brown's adopted a cute puppy named Sasha. As a family, they decided that Sasha needed a dog house. In order to build this dog house the family need to come up with a plan. The plan is important because it gives the family detailed instructions of what is needed to make a big beautiful dog house.
Heavenly Father has also given us a plan to follow. It is called the Plan of Salvation. In Heavenly Father's plan we were part of a council in heaven and given the choice to follow the plan of our Savior and come to this earth to experience life as we now it.

This plan of happiness allows us to have a family and time to learn from that family what is right and what is wrong. We learn through our time here how to exercise our free agency and make choices for ourselves. With this plan, if we make a mistake, Heavenly Father gives us the opportunity to ask for forgiveness and make good on our wrong doing.

When we die, we get to go to the spirit world and spend time with our family and friends that passed on before us. We will wait with them until Jesus Christ is resurrected and we are judged.

Heavenly Father's plan allows us to return to live with him and have our families for eternity.

Activity:
Draw a family photo, share your pictures with each other. At the top of the pictures write "Our family is eternal thanks to the Plan of Salvation" and display in your home.

Treat:
Kix Treats
8 cups Kix cereal
1 16 ounce package small marshmallows
1/4 cup butter

Melt butter in the microwave. Add the package of marshmallows and heat for 1 minute 50 seconds. Stir until smooth and the cereal a little at a time until mixed well. Place in a pre-greased pan and press down. Let cool and serve.
